The Happiness Newspaper

This journal dedicates its time to presenting beautiful news. There is so much sadness and horror in the world. Why not take a few minutes to contemplate how lovely life is and how many wonderful things are happening all around us? I would love to see the day when a real newspaper in which the horrible, sad news would be published somewhere in the middle, while the positive, happy news would be publish in the first pages, in colour. I am willing to bet people would be so much happier.

Sport The Power of "Vamos!"
Tennis April 22, 2013
Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal feels proud to find himself competing in Barcelona, Spain during this year's clay season. Taking part of the finals in Monte Carlo, in which Novak Djokovic won the title, he proved his abilities on clay and in the tennis court. Not bad for someone who missed out of most tournaments in 2012 due to injuries.
The once number one player in all the world certainly wishes to play his best, improve his world ranking, and enjoy some great tennis. "[Making Monte Carlo's final] is fantastic," Nadal states, "playing five tournaments in a row after injury, being in five finals in a row is great. I'm very happy for everything. It will be very tough." The player is grateful to be able to play tennis when a few months ago, it seemed impossible. Of his opponent, Djokovic, Nadal said, "[Djokovic] brings you to the limit of your game if you want to have chances to win. I know I have to play better than what I did [against previous opponents] to try to win. I have to play more aggressive. These kind of matches are special all the time. I am very happy to have the chance to play these kind of matches another time."

No matter how far Nadal travels in the Barcelona championship, he is already a winner.

Politics
Puerto Rico April 2013
Newly elected Governor, Alejandro Garcia Padilla, is paving the way for great improvements in his island of Puerto Rico. Recycling, conservation, and boosting local agriculture lie amongst his latest laws and projects. In order for Puerto Rico to advance as a truly great nation, it needs to focus on a wide variety of issues.

Preserving the local fauna and flora serves to conserve the island's greatest resource, its beautiful natural resources. Additionally, although the island already features recycling initiatives, the Governor is now wishing to expand these ideas. Another area he is expanding is the inclusion of fruits and vegetables as part of school cafeteria menus on a regular basis. This project not only benefits the health of Puertorrican children, but it also helps to boost the local agriculture. Farmers will consistently have someone to sell their products and this will bring in revenue and personal satisfaction. Child obesity is a problem that many face in the island, and this new menu hopes to allow children better nutrition. This project is also very dear to the First Lady of the island, Wilma Pastrana. She's cultivated a vegetable garden at La Fortaleza, Puerto Rico's equivalent to The White House. School children can visit the garden, learn about gardening, and spend time with the First Lady. Michelle Obama's gardening at the White House certainly reached the hearts of many across the globe.

Ecology and conservation are not the only issues Governor Garcia Padilla is addressing. His latest project includes ensuring that the country's police is offering the best services possible. As the leader of the police, he is visiting stations and meeting with officials of all levels and ranks. On his agenda lies the need to ensure police men and women are reporting to work regularly. By fighting corruption within the agency, the Governor instills a higher quality of services towards the people of Puerto Rico.
